Born in Guyana, alum Dr. Cindy Sinclair, a Top 25 Canadian Immigrant in 2023, defied the odds to become a leader, ultimately making OISE her new home.
In July 2023, Rijeka, Croatia, hosted a week-long conference that brought together over 50 international scholars, educators, activists, and practitioners to share insights on preventing sexual and gender-based violence. Led by OISE professor Miglena Todorova and doctoral student Nana Gulic, the event aimed to transcend national borders.

The OISE community is deeply disturbed by the June 28 attack at the University of Waterloo, where two students and one faculty member were injured. Today, we are thinking of them and all those who have close colleagues, friends and loved ones affected by this senseless act of violence.
